Holme of Parke Nabb husbandman, and Hugh Tonycliffe of Merrellgreve husbandman, for breaking into the free tenement of Elizabeth Tonycliffe, wid. in Merrellgreve, 13 Feb. 34 (1591/2), and for disseising the said Elizabeth and keeping her out until the date of this inquisition, contrary to the statute of 8 Hen.vi Sheriff states “I have restored to Elizabeth Tonycliff full and peaceful possession, but the within named Robt., Robt & Hugh have not been found in my bailiwick.” Done a runner! |
