Humour & Sins
The Four Temperaments or Humours
Aristotle proposed the idea that these were the dominant characteristics of human beings. Whilst individuals have a mix of all four traits, the theory held that everyone showed one of the four temperaments as a ruling quality. The humours are the principle bodily fluids and each of the temperaments is characterised by the prevailing influence of one of the humours.
